'Darling U Know' is one of the singles off Jae Jin's EP album titled 'BALTIMORE BOULEVARD' released on November 3, 2017.
The magic of R&B of the 1990s can be seen across contemporary music today. From Drake, Ed Sheeran, or Bruno Mars, many of these artists borrow heavily from the heyday of this formative chapter of black music. I grew up digesting some of the most classic albums and songs from this era that melded pop songwriting with amazing production. I remember creating cassette and cd mixes for friends and lovers including everything from BoyzIIMen (I snuck in the release year of their ‘II’ album on the track art) to Shai to Jodeci (and in turn K-Ci & JoJo). I would slowly deconstruct the genius of producers and songwriters like Timbaland, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Dallas Austin. I would simply sit back amazed at the innovation of artists like D’Angelo and Maxwell. If there is any other era of black music that has made the most impact on my life and art besides 50s/60s soul music, it would be R&B of the 1990s. 'DARLING U KNOW', one of many unique types of original songs on my upcoming album ‘Baltimore Boulevard,’ is my creative stab at paying homage to this beautiful decade of innovation.

Sometimes I really go for Christian rock - not only because of the heartwarming lyrics, but because it frequently involves exquisite melodies and arrangements. Tim Ouyang aka "Tim Be Told" is an undisputable master of this genre, especially when it comes to ballads. A magical collection. Each track hits home like nothing else I've heard all year. Tim accomplishes what few (arguably more popular) artists have, trading formula for nuance. Every artistic risk pays off. The holy blend of genres Tim pulls off here may not be for everyone, but I find it the musical equivalent of what Kafka calls great art: it smashes the frozen sea inside us. This album is an immense and bighearted gift to the world. (Impossible to choose a favorite track.)
