'Wild Creatures' is a "break-up" song. I am certain that a person cannot understand his or her own worth until it is reflected back...which can only come from making that ever so difficult attempt to wholeheartedly love and care for another person. There are many songs today that address either the destination of where that love is going or the hurt, pain, and regret of failing to reach that destination. However, I wanted to write about the journey as well as the importance of its progression. Yes, sometimes relationships can result in marriage and/or one's own belief of success, but beyond that, these relationships teach you about what it is to be human. These relationships take you through the feelings and emotions of putting yourself ahead of another... and yes, sometimes having to let go of someone or something for the best intention of both individuals. And when all is said and done, it isn't simply a failed relationship. Rather, it is something beautiful that has resulted in your hearts ability to love a little bit deeper and with greater capacity. And though in a time of brokenness, you might want to never love again and only want to retract deeper into yourself, it is a reminder to not stop loving, but rather to boldly run that risk to love again (when--not if-- that time comes).
